Tom’s Historic Photo Archive is housed in Portland, Oregon, and includes thousands of images of people and places from the last two centuries.

He was photo-historian in Special Collections at the University of Oregon, Eugene, and is author of “Oregon Photographers 1852-1917” and “Oregon, Then & Now.” His experience includes more than 20 years in professional darkroom printing of historic negatives, 15 years digital scanning historic negatives, and three years drum scanning, plus 15 years professional consulting, universities and institutions.

Tom says: “I have the best-equipped darkroom in the Pacific Northwest for making archival prints of historic format glass negatives. The enlargers, lenses and archival washers are modern and the best available.” He is well known as a master printer. He also has a complete color house with three ultra-high resolution drum scanners, calibrated cinema monitor and Ultrachrome printer. He understands photo conservation: cleaning, stabilizing photographs and negatives, stain removal, interventions.
